I celebrated my first wedding anniversary by seeing Beausoleil and having dinner with my girl!

That's totally great! I've got my first anniversary coming up in a couple of months. Hard to believe, isn't it? That sounds like a great night. Beausoleil is terrific! Congratulations!

i re-calibrated my 2 track for a mix session tommorow, hung a bunch of insulation on the walls in a super-ghetto attempt to cut down some splashiness in my control room and am currently watching a young lindsey lohan in "the parent trap".

Spent about 7 hrs mixing about 10 scenes of an independent comedy. I was hired for audio cleanup but also did a bunch of ADR work. Now I'm also mixing and... get this... mastering.

I got together with the singer/songwriter/guitarist from the band I play bass in. We ran some tunes and worked on a new one so when the drummer gets back from England we'll have a head up.

What about you Chris..?

I tore down a make shift studio, then got ready to set up another one. All the while nursing a pretty wicked hangover.

Started at noon and still going strong. Mixing a really great band that I really love from Omaha. I feel extremely lucky to be able to work on them. Had some issues with the backup vocals, but got them sussed out. Today I broke my "No Autotune" rule for the first time ever. I guess it's been six years since I've started doing this, but I think that was a pretty good hold out.

started, and finished bass and keys (organ + synth) for this band. went well. i really need to find something to do with the synth though, something radical. i couldnt figure it out today, but i am starting to get some ideas. that will come TOMMOROW

Played a gig in Raleigh with Scott Sawyer opening for Koko Taylor and Robert Cray.

Then I came home and checked out a couple of cover tunes I need to learn for some upcoming Mitch Easter gigs.

Found a nice section of a train field recording to use as a rhythm on a new track. Looped it and tweaked it (LPF, eq) for about an hour.

I went out and had breakfast with my friend/piano coach. He made a killer and large breakfast of eggs over-medium, hashbrowns and toast. We discussed technique, piano mutes and generally shot the breeze. Came home and did about nothing (aside from some piano practice) the rest of the day. Finished it off watching the first half of the second season of Red Dwarf.

Dammit Chris, you were in the triangle and didn't let me know? Punk.

recorded myself playing drums on a friend's record. overdubbing drums sucks. i mean, it's fun, i'm having a good time, but what a pain in the ass. if he was here and standing next to me playing the bass we could just kick the shit out as easy as breathing. but nooooooooo.
