Is anyone hip to the recording techniques or gear that he uses? His stuff sounds amazing!

He's got one of those sounds where I bet he just picks up whatever's around. Alesis boxes. Broken mackie mixers. Doesn't matter his shit's just hot.

This is a totally uninformed guess though. Maybe he's totally sesh-o-tron.

I'd love to see how in gods name he puts a mix together though.

I kinda doubt it -- at least on the more recent stuff. Some of the earlier stuff seems a little like he has a bunch of toys and just starts fucking around, but I get the idea that everything is pretty well orchestrated and very cleanly recorded despite the way it comes off. Seems like he's fairly precise in what he wants.

His band is tight as hell live too. All synced to video. They don't really make mistakes. Love that guy.

I just saw a month or 2 ago in San Francisco. Fantastic! Tight as hell and had lots of cool visual effects. Every member of the band had at least one set of chimes which they sporadically ran their hands through. Really good show.

I highly recommend Fantasma. Probably one of my favorite albums.
