... these articles are actually decent, especially for beginners. Most of the time, MF is pure evil, but I was pleasantly surprised that these articles were pragmatic and relatively free of sales bull.

Start on the preamp article and work your way through...

This actually wouldn't be a bad idea for TOMB, as a place to direct those beginning Home Recording to the wealth of information at hand. Don't know how feasible such a thing would be here, but I know it would have kept a few of my dumb newbie posts out of the way.
