Hey, this is some vintage thred action! I still use this plug. Generally I use the real thing when tracking, and the plugin if I get the idea to use some echo later. I suppose because I am too lazy to take the 10 seconds required to patch the Space Echo into in insert. Anyway the plug sits really nicely in the mix.

It's true, I haven't been around for a while...I kind of got my studio to where I really like all my gear and know how to use it, and so I haven't felt the need to talk about it. But I guess I'm back for some new inspiration...

I too love that a thread can live and be relevant for this long, knowledge is forever!
I have only a real space echo a re-201, the sond one I've owned, sold my first in 2005 with the first kid due, bought another last summer, nothing like the one-of-a-kind of the real item I imagine as both of mine have been so different, but I wouldn't turn down a $20- accurate and repeatable echo.

I bought the GS 201, since I'll never get close to the real thing, and it works pretty damn well. For Mac users, there's also the free KingDubby AU from Lowcoders which also sounds good.

Here's from the ReadMe file :

"Oct 9, 2008 - Version 1.1.3
- Minor improvements and code optimization
- New authorization method (doesn't require manual copy any more)
- Mac version released"

according to the icons above the plug in, it is compatible with all platforms...

And at the bottom, there are download choices... I see these:

For Mac OSX GS-201 - 1.1.3 - OSX VST AU UB - 1,95 Mb

Zip Archive GS-201 - 1.1.3 - Windows VST - 1,97 Mb

Windows executable GS-201 - 1.1.3 - Windows VST Installer - 2,01 Mb

I think I'll install it on my Mac Laptop, and then run it as an outboard effect for my PT HD, since it does not have RTAS format.

Yay... 24.95 USD as of Monday April 12 2010...
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Resurrecting this thread yet again...

Anyone have any luck using this plug in Pro Tools on an Intel Mac using the VST wrapper? I can get the plug to show up in the session and can actually push sounds through it but the interface is frozen so I can't adjust any parameters. Is that other people's experience too? I'm bummed since I've heard such good things about this plug.

FYI, I'm on a Macbook Pro running OS 10.5.8 and PT 8.04 M-Powered.

BTW, the plug in is on sale now.

Hi

I run it off a laptop into Pro Tools HD, via a Motu audio interface.

Cheers

I just mixed the first track for our new album with this plug in. Not really for the delay but more a rumbling undercurrent thing. The UAD one is awesome, but this is still a sweet plug for the money.
