How come Gibson's Fender-bashing always manages to upset me? Oh yeah, because I own one Gibson and four Fender Instruments. Why can't we all just get along?

Another guitar built for dentists...

LOL. It is a bit dumb IMHO.
They must realise that many musicians have/like both, yet they still can't help the childishness.
Mind you, that Fender.com forum is creepy. What's up with them not accepting posts outside working hours?
This bit from their term and conditions made me chuckle.
From the moderators:
"Ask us something about computers or website development and we’ll probably have a ready answer for you. On the other hand, ask us about the flux capacitor in a certain guitar’s wiring harness and I can virtually guarantee that you’re going to be met with a blank stare every time"
Moderating a forum with staff who straight-faced, tell you they know nothing about the relevant topic?

It may be the kind of technology that 20-30 yrs from now everyone just fucking laughs at. As in, it's most likely the beginning of something huge for guitar. I really like the insta-tune alternate tunings. That's about it. I never have a problem with tuning and actually like the process.

Gibson's never realized that like Fender, they too haven't designed anything since about 1964 that anyone gives a shite about either. I do love my Gibson's, but hate their company direction.

The list of cool companies that Gibson's bought and buried or just ruined:

Opcode
Slingerland
Epiphone (debatable)
Dobro

...the list is much longer, but there's the highlights.

The only true great mic on this planet is the Shure SM-57. It is the most consistant in not totally sucking of anything ever built. All other mics are "application dependant".

Hmm.... this is remarkably like something some wierd local guy came up with a few years ago.

Tragically, it is still a dumb idea. Can't really have multiple tunings without multiple intonations...

Dentist's indeed. You'll never need to charge the battery if it sits on your wall where it belongs.

Heck, I'll go one beyond that and say that for many tunings I want a whole different setup! My band tunes all our guitars down a whole step and I've gone up to 12's on the electic and 13's on the acoustic to accomodate, with of course the necessary intonation and truss rod adjustments.

I wonder how many Heritage guitars one will be able to buy for the same price as one robot guitar? I mean, the best way to have three tunings on stage is to have three guitars, right?

If only Gibson R&D could find a way to make a quality guitar for an affordable price, THAT would be something. Am I the only one who seems to remember an extra value meal at McDonald's costing about 20% less in 1995, but a Gibson Les Paul cost about half as much as it does now?

The worst part is that there is apparently a market for people who want to spend 2 grand or more on a guitar but don't know how to tune it.

Bonham was known for tuning his skins very "tight".
