Stupid S/Pdif question...

Post by wyattt » Wed Dec 12, 2007 11:02 am

I typically utilize the 8 channels on my 002 and the ADAT lightpipe channels, but I'd like to use the S/Pdif. Do you have to use a AD/DA converter to make use of these 2 channels or can I just plug something in that uses RCA? I read my manual again but I'm still in the dark.

You will need AD conversion.

Get yourself a preamp for Christmas that has digital S/Pdif out!

If you're talking about taking the digital signal out of your ADAT to your computer, a lot of soundcards, like my M-Audio Audiophile have s/pdif in/out.

A friend of mine just got one of these and it is completely rad. No output but still rad.
