Yeah, that photo appears on the sleeve of the self titled, 2nd album.

Thanks.

That's from the Band's time recording in California. The 'Classic Albums' DVD talks about it it and I think has some cool footage even.

Wasn't that supposed to be Sammy Davis Jr's poolside cabana at his house?

I wonder how much of that album actually has a no-front head kick drum on it.

Look how far Levon is reaching for the floor tom. Heh. That's me all the time. 'Hey where the hell did the floor tom go? Oh there it is all the way across the room. I'll just continue with this ridiculous reach because I'm too lazy to go get it.'
Stilgar, we've got wormsign the likes of which God has never seen!

Isn't that the album that the board was accidently (and famously) wired out of phase, with the result that the piano disappears when played back in mono?

Is that a Langevin? Or Altec or something?

So weird. Been playing the record continously for the past week and then I bump into this thread here. Weird. Here's some neat info:

Great article.
one of my top 10 records of life for sure.

no control room is good for focusing on 'the music'

I was lucky to record at A&R 7th Ave. Awesome place.
