i would like to start recording music with my mac and i am starting from square 1.
can anyone suggest a resource that explains signal paths, different mics and their
function,mic pres, etc.
i'm trying to maximize my time and resources so i'm looking for advice on the
"must haves" in terms of equipment (mixer, audio interface and so on...)
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
rich

First of all, is your mac a macbook, macbook pro, imac, mac pro?

depending on what it is you have a choice between various interfaces: usb, firewire, expresscard/34 and PCIe

what kind of music do you want to make? tracking real drums or using sampled beats? vocals? instrumentals?

have midi needs?

need more info because there are no generic answers
