Purely scientific request for Tape Op guitar collection phot

Post by shedshrine » Fri Jan 04, 2008 10:01 pm

These photos shall merely show the lutherials in utilitarian pose as they are but simple tools, mere planks strung of wire.
Owners compelled to join their instruments in said photos should be present merely for the perfunctory purpose of holding said object(s).
No silliness please. The proper dignified demeanor of repose is exhibited admirably by Trodden on page 3.

Should these requirements prove too constraining, small pets or foliage may be included also. or sushi. Shall we begin?

EDIT:
Pictures mandatory unless you don't have any to post.
This rule will be strictly adhered to unless you don't want to.
Feel free to post mere lists if you must though completely pointless.

I was just kidding around 'cause all the guits in your gallery (thus far) were Fenders. But as you say, the tele deluxe was Fenders answer to the Les Paul, so there we go. I wish I hadn't tossed the original Seth Lover wide range hums though...

oh yeah...the neck one in my Tele Custom died on me back in the 80s...and, of course, back then 70s Fenders were considered canoe paddles so i considered it fair game for modification and proceeded to carve it up and gut it and so on...it has GFS pickups in it right now, kind of between a Duncan '59 and a Filtertronish sound...but it can be a trifle zingy on the top, maybe cos of the poorly executed tone bypass mod to compensate for the 250k pots.

i don't have a picture of my white mid-80s Yamaha strat-style with Duncan '59s (trembucker bridge, lil '59 neck)...i bought it in NZ while living there in the 90s cos i was desperate for something to play, came back to the US and proceeded to replace everything that wasn't made of wood (except the heel plate and neck bolts)...it looks like cheezy crap but plays like butter and sounds like heaven...i'll shoot it and upload tomorrow, if i can.

And in the spirit of full disclosure, I didn't have room for a Peavey Generation EXP on the old sofa.

The body is tele styled, but has a springy short scale neck. Its humbucker and mid single are unremarkable, but the neck single breaks up in a really great way. Also, it's got a hollow chrome piezo bridge, so it sounds out really nice even unplugged, and while it doesn't particularly have a dynamic acoustic tone plugged, blended can be cool, and running it through an acoustic emulation gives you an uberfrankenstein "acoustic" sound that is cool to mess around with.

Geoff! I have almost exactly that guitar! Except mine's a '64 and somebody painted it black at some point. The neck is awesome.

I have pics of most of them individually, but don't feel like scrounging for them...

- late model Gibson Les Paul Custom, black (w/ a Bareknuckle Warpig in the bridge)

- 1980 Gibson SG Standard, trans brown to black burst (restored, refinished, SD Custom Custom in the bridge, SD Pearly Gates in the neck. RS Guitar Works upgraded pots/caps)

- early/mid 80s Gibson Sonex, silver, stock.

- late model (?) Epiphone Les Paul 56 Gold Top w/ P90s, stock.

-Rickenbacker 4003 bass, black, stock.

- Ibanez Iceman bass, brown sunburst, stock.

- mid 70s El Degas acoustic guitar.

I'd like to get a Tele in there, but haven't had any call for it.
