Post by nesta » Tue Jan 08, 2008 5:31 pm

if you have 17 minutes to kill and you want to watch a hard-core amateur radio operator roll his own tubes...

what else can be said?

enjoy.

That is too DIY for me. I'm still trying not to solder my finger to cable jacks...

you gotta be kidding me. what a badass. and here i was starting to think i was pretty good for modding my mk012s, pulling screens out of ribbons, building a hamptone and circuit bending a bunch of toys...

that's a level of DIY i'm pretty sure i'll never get into.

I saw that on the Prodigy forum. Amazing. Wouldn't you love to pick his brain?

Did I miss him flashing the getter or does he not use getters? I didn't see one.

How I would love to hear those tubes in my amp. Just a shame I'd most likely be the one who's playing.

Thanks!

Looks to me like he didn't flash them. Can't really blame him for not wanting to keep barium around the shop, I suppose.

Totally inspiring. Thanks for this. I'll never look at a tube the same way again.

Can tubes be recycled?
