Well... they are about the same price. I need a pair of multi-pattern mics for front-of-kit and other stereo applications. I plan to use them for M/S and Blumlein confirgurations.
I know that CAD is a very different company now-a-days... and I hear slightly better than mediocre marks for the SP mics
So, which of these is a better bet?
Your uncensored opinions are very welcome.

The M179s are "continuously variable" patterns which is a powerful tool in itself. I have two M179s. They can be used for M-S, Blumlein and beyond. Their shape and size is friendlier than the 6000. I have not used the 6000, but do have the 7000. I am a fan of the M179 because it is quiet and is a workhorse that can be used for many apps.
