Any compatible Laptops for Presonus FireStudio?

What PC laptop do you have that works pretty much right out of the box with your Presonus FireStudio? I'll be shopping pretty soon for one to make my portable rig complete.

If you haven't, I would have a talk with Presonus tech support (800-750-0323) before buying anything, and ask about hardware to avoid.

In particular, ask about which brands of internal Firewire hardware are compatible with the Firebox. Also inquire about any video cards and processors that cause problems.

And yeah, XP. I like XP Pro but some people here say that's overkill. And make sure to get at least a 7,200 rpm internal hard drive. Sometimes the internal drives in laptops are slower (5,400).

I realize this isn't a specific model recommendation, but hopefully it will be helpful.

I have a Vaio that was retrograded to XP Pro from Vista Home, but would recommend ADK (call Scott or visit their website). He offers a lot of advice of why to choose ADK over competitors and I would have got mine from him if I didn't have a "deal" through my workplace. I do have an ADK desktop DAW for doing my edits, mixing and "mastering". Good luck.
