I was interested in that when it came out, as I am primarily a keyboard player looking for interesting ways to control my gadgets. Ultimately though....not quite there...though marginally cooler than keytar.shedshrine wrote:With Gibson buying out Tascam, I was looking for a pic to post showing how an electronics firm and a guitar company might combine their strengths.
This was something I came across. Kind of iPad meets one of those old Roland (Casio?) midi controller jobbies. Interesting concept, a completely different beast altogether to the conventional, unrecognizable to callous fingered string benders. Basically a 24 fret synth.

Gibson bought Tascam?

i remember when Gibson bought Oberheim and then held a pillow over their heads.
funnily enough, Gibson themselves were once owned by one of the companies who had bought Moog Music at one time (late 70s-early-80s). can't remember the name.

couple things about the gibson bankruptcy. i hope they remove the 40 models of les paul and just make a standard and deluxe model of everything. simplify and make good guitars again instead of the shit they've been churning out for decades. some awful stuff leaving their factory. that and sell off all the other brands you own (wurlitzer, tobias, tascam, onkyo, etc.) and just make guitars and maybe some amps. specialization.
