can anyone help? did anyone go through this?
i've got a layla 24 PCI, updated the drivers, etc etc. It recognizes the ASIO driver, and the inputs are assigned, but I don't get any audio playback to the card.
i've worked the past 6 hours or so trying everything under the sun, installing, disabling, updating, etcetc.
damn! cubase 4 won't play audio through my echo layla!

This may sound too simple but you said the INPUTS are assigned.
Have you assigned your master output buss to the cards OUTPUTS?
I assume you have but check it just in case. Other than that I am at a loss. I have been using SX3 and 2 delta 1010's for a while now and have had no such issues. Good luck.

kinda fixed it!
found out that the 4.1 update somehow made my asio drivers not work!
so, i reinstalled, and am sticking to pre-4.1 (which doesn't matter, i'm just using it for tracking, not sequencing).
i'm now discovering that i can't get a sample rate to match audio. i'm importing and playing back 44.1k files with the clock in both cubase and my echo console software set to 44.1k, and it just ain't working. very slow. switched to purewave, too, to bypass the windows kernel audio change, and it's still the same problem.
changing sample rates to 48 and 3x.x (whatever that is) gives no audible difference in playback rate. jumping higher changes, yes, but no match at 44.1.
i'm thinking it's a layla issue, unless there's input from others here?
thanks for the replys, guys.
