Hill Multimix power cable question
So I bought a Hill Multimix on eBay and I just heard from the guy that he can't find the connecting cable between the power supply and the board. He reports: "The cable is a 5 pin DIN cable not your standard DIN cable."
Anybody know where I might find such a cable? I'm now faced with getting a refund or negotiating a lower price for the board -- and I really want this board.
thanks!

that cable can be made..don't sweat it..
one jack is male 5 pin DIN in an arch like midi, etc.
the other is Male DIN with 5 pins like the 5 side of a die..
on the arch one if you are looking at the jack in a "U" shape with the guide bump on top the order goes 1, 2, 5, 3, 4 from left to right..
on the "die" shape side with the guide bump at the top it goes:
5, 2
-1-
4, 3

All you really need is the one weird connector, whether it's 4 pins like on mine or 5 as on Geoff's. The other end is basically a MIDI cable. So you could get a MIDI cable, cut off the end, strip the wires, and attach the new connector as Geoff says. Shoudn't cost much at all, IF you can find the connector.

Hello. Just wanted to revive this thread for an update.
I made the cable as Beauty&Wonder described, and it blew most of the fuses in my power supply. I got a little scared that I fried the thing and took it to Mr. Honkyjonk of TOMB fame (hi, Jon!) and he helped me figure out that the DIN connector with the "U" shape should be wired 1, 4, 2, 5, 3 if you're looking at it head-on with the guide bump on top.
Which is the standard configuration of DIN connectors:
http://pinouts.ru/connector/5_pin_DIN_m ... ctor.shtml
So I replaced fuses, rewired the cable and the board works now. Preamps on a couple channels are out and the meter LEDs don't work, so yesterday I scored another board on eBay for less than I paid for this screwed up one. If that one works, I'll be selling this one to somebody who can fix it easily.
The frustrating thing about this Hill is that the schematic doesn't give much indication of how the power comes into the board. Jon and I pulled out the master card and followed wires back to the PCB to figure it out.
Thanks to everybody for the help on this. I'm looking forward to my first tracking session with this little board.
