Just for the record, I wanted to state that I find that TL Audio console totally hideous.

For the most part though I'm just trying to avoid this thread because it makes me want things.

yup, isnt it great? beauty is in the ears of the be-hearers....the only silly thing is the led based meter bridge over the top of the old skool vu's. but it is optional.... it supposedly sounds amazing....

Everytime I walk into my room and see my Hammond M3 sitting right next to my Wurlitzer it makes me smile. As far as rack gear I'm partial to my Hamptone JFET and pretty much anything made by Chandler, Neve, or Shadow Hills.

People can't believe that it doesn't tie itself into a knot after a while.

Okay, so the following are more "Ripley's believe it or not" than straight up esthetically pleasing...

Imageclick me

Nagra cold-war spy recorder originally designed for undercover surveillance during the Kennedy administration, later used widely in law enforcement. It uses tape the same width as cassette tape but on open reels and packs automatic dynamic level control and audio compression circuitry into its machined aluminum 145x100x28mm case.

"The A/DA flanger is one of the rarest and most sought after effect pedals on the planet. It responds to the intensity of a player's picking (guitar strings, people) with a precision never since found in an analog effect. Very few were ever made. There are emulators out there in the market, but purists all know that analog is the real deal. Not shown: the optional footswitch (Paul Gilbert has one, just poke around the net to see him using it)."

got these from Wired: rare gadgets site

Friend from work is currently traveling Copenhagen, sent this pic of a snakeskin/plexiglass trimmed grand piano in a showroom over there:

..and now for something completely different.
A guitar worth $3,598,002.

"Yes, you read it right. This electric guitar is worth ?2,500,000 (US $3,598,002) because it?s made of pure cocaine. A 30-something guy flew from Costa Rica to Fiumicino airport in Rome with a guitar (a black Squier Strat, with the label still on the scratch plate) and 10 thermos flasks in his luggage. The custom officials spotted white powder leaking out of the guitar that was tested positive for cocaine. Even the thermos flasks contained cocaine in solution. The so-called music enthusiast was carrying a total of 3 kg of pure cocaine, having a market value of more than 2.5 million Euros."

hmmm... I was going to commend you on your ability to resurrect ancient, dead threads, but this one is probably best served with a new topic. or are you saying your favorite piece of gear is a suit?

edit: and then magically the post that i had replied to disappeared...

A recent post talked about replacing knobs on a Pre-Amp and it got me thinking of a silly little question.

Who makes the prettiest out board gear?

What makes your rack look stellar?
Probably my fave are ones with large rotary knobs.

Blue Robbie. One huge, smooth, shiny knob.
