the new rules : there are no rules
you clearly need to move to canada. where we have two things in large quantities, snow, and traynor gear.calaverasgrandes wrote: I will someday get my hands on a Traynor YBA1a and a YBA3a
personally i would like magical gear fairies to bring me the following:
an orange tiny terror (my life long dream has been to create a guitar rig i can carry in one trip / take on the greyhound.)
an actual matched pair of some sort of decent microphone.
and to support home town business, a pair of sage se-1's
trouble clef.

YBA1 or YBA1a? The earlier ones are more fendery. Some even habe tube rectos in em. The later ones are the heavy lifters. I used to deafen soundguys with my mere "50 watt" YBA1A. I dont know what mojo is happening in that tranny but its way more than 50 watts.minorleagues wrote:Dang, any interested in buying some Traynor gear and selling it to fellow Tape Op'ers? I would really like a YBA-1 head for our bass player, but they are a little out of his price range in the states.

they aren't that plentiful. but you can pretty much always find one if you're looking in the 300-400 range it is however getting a little more difficult. but they were what every band played through atleast in eastern canada back in the day, maybe western canada is just as blissfully stocked with garnet amplifiers.

yeah Garnets are already fetching sick prices. But I think they are much more rare. about B100 vs the Traynor. Old Ampegs are awsome souding. But unreliable. Get a YBA1a. Even at the $500 they are getting on evilbay they are a deal. I paid $150 for my first one though. Oh yeah, YBA1/YBA1a's only do 16 or 8 ohm. 4ohm will kill em eventually.
YBA3 will do 8 or 4 ohm and yba3a can do 4 or 2 ohm, at 300 watts! With 4 tubes! Man, next time I am in upstate NY I am totally border crossing.
