Tac Scorpion channels all sounding different?

Post by jmpizzoferrato » Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:38 am

I have a Tac Scorpion. Some of the channels are at a good level, others need to be cranked, thus getting really noisey. I do have one totally broken channel in there. Do you think removing that would help the quieter channels? Why are all of my channels sounding different?

Thanks

If you TAC is as old as mine it's a safe bet that the caps might be starting to go. My channels are resonable even but there are a few that are quieter/noisier than others.

I'm no help there. I haven't started recapping mine yet. I 'm still recovering from recapping a Soundcraft 1S that I use for remote gigs and I'm not too keen to start another major repair project yet.
You might want to pull a channel on your console and recap it so you can see what kind of improvement it makes.

I like the idea of the langely mod too. The TAK would be 100% awesome if the line inputs didn't run through the mic amp.
