Hello all, I was taking apart my AT 4040 today and noticed that there's a little pot inside, but I have no idea what it's for. I've looked at all the documentation for it and can't find anything about it.
Do you think it is just to control how much the pad on the mic is, or for the bass roll-off, or have I possibly found the "awesome dial" hidden inside?
Thanks

It might be to calibrate the condenser element itself with respect to input sensitivity. Personally, I wouldn't mess with it.

Yeah, I have been scared to play with it, the only way I would be able to figure it out is to plug it in and play with the pot while monitoring the mic. Definitely wouldn't want to risk it.
Thank you.
