Post by phantom power » Wed Mar 19, 2008 8:02 pm

This is my first real DIY project. It took awhile, but it's finally done and they sound great!

Thanks a lot to the Scum, digitaldrummer, Buddy Holly, Scodiddly, nate, and audioboffin for all the help.

I plan on screen printing labels for the controls soon.

Thanks again y'all!

That is one bad-mutha-fucka.

Nice work!

How difficult was it? I can solder well, but I'm a little gun-shy about just buying everything that I need to get this done.

Where did you get the rack case from?

damn, this really makes me want to rack up those two channels I have. I've got a mile-long list of audio gear I need to work on, and the PM-1000s are somewhere in the middle.

congrats man.

Thanks guys.

ipressrecord,

I can't say that they were easy, because I don't have much to compare to, but I will say I was amazed that it wasn't hard. Even the metal work wasn't too bad. With the wealth of knowledge out there on these and the fact that, thanks to the good people of the TOMB you can pretty much get a question answered in less than 24 hours, you've got nothing to lose. The case was part of a trade. I think it's from par-metal. I got it from Buddy Holly, he'd know for sure.

nate,

With your apparent knowledge of electronics, I bet you could knock these out in an evening; 2 if you count the metal work.

Damn Aaron! That thing is so bad ass. I had no idea you were gonna go crazy with cool ass knobs and everything.

I'm not seeing your output transformers. Where are they?

Hey great job! Fantastic choice of case and knobs, looks really boutique.
