preamp plugins?

Howdy. Is there such a thing as a preamp plugin or emulator VST or something?

gearbox includes a few preamp emulations

opinions vary on how good a job L6 did with them, though.

I find them useful every now and then for some things

PSP has MixSaturator in DX.

There are a couple VST's, MusiCrow is one.

A lot of the "warmers" are set up like preamps; Ferox, Blood Overdrive, Ruby Tube.

Then there are a bunch of guitar-simulator effects that are semi-useable, often better on stuff other than guitar tracks.

the urs channel strip has various preamp types.

also the SIR is a freeware impulse reverb which aslo has some preamp impulses i think..
the new rules : there are no rules
