Audio to USB input with ADAT I/O

Post by flite » Sat Apr 12, 2008 11:47 am

I am looking for a Audio to USB input with ADAT I/O for fairly cheap, like 250 or under I am using Sonar and a Blackface ADAT. Please don't hate on me because of the Blackface...It's what I have to work with right now.

Looking around, I think you may be out of luck. Every USB interface I can find in that price range is 2x2, and none of them have ADAT i/o. I couldn't find anything under $500 - not to say you might not find one used for less, but under $250 is going to be hard.

Can you do Firewire? The Alesis io|14 can be had for less than $200 on ebay right now - I saw 3 new units @ $179 each, which would leave you enough money to grab a firewire card...

Here's the ones I saw, if you're interested.

I went to the Alesis website and found this...

The iO|14 gives you forward-thinking expansion potential, with ADAT lightpipe inputs for additional connectivity, no matter what your recording sessions may demand"

Wouldn't this imply that I could use the ADAT with this? Is there something I am missing?
