mic modification: geffel 692/3?

Post by JohnDavisNYC » Fri May 02, 2008 3:07 pm

sooo... we have a pair of CMV692/3s, and i was wondering if it is possible/easy to convert them to 48v phantom power, instead of using the power supply and charming 110>220 transformer... i have a geffel pm750 that was modded accordingly, and it would be awesome to be able to just plug in these 692s and use them with phantom... no messing with tuchel to tuchel, etc....

anyway, anyone know who would be the person for the job?

cheers,
john

Does you know what voltage the power supply outputs? Is it 12V like the pm750 was? As long as it doesn't want to see more than 48V, it should doable.

Bust out that multimeter and see what the PS is putting out...

Hi,
Assuming you are speaking of MV 692's, I had mine modded here: www.drefahlaudio.com

He is in Germany, but the turnaround was fast.

I love these mics.
