Got me thinking...
what if mics were cars?
Neumann = Mercedes
AKG = BMW
ELAM 251 = Rolls Royce
SM 57 = Volkwagen (68 bug)
Audio Technica = Subaru
or maybe Shure = Ford
EV = Chevrolet

i.e, everyone owned one at some point, but you grow out of them pretty quick.

Wait, Chevettes are cool, too. Then again, I think 57's are cool as well.
