powering TEAC preamps from a tape machine Help

Post by jaredrush » Fri May 23, 2008 11:15 pm

Hi, i just found 2 TEAC preamps (only) which were the lower section from a TEAC reel to reel tape machine. These preamps are model AR-40SL which I understand what a pretty common preamp in most of their machines back then. What I'd like to do is figure out where to solder some wires on the preamp curcuit board to get power to these preamps, and try and use them for recording. On the rear of the preamps, there is left and right RCA for (IN's and OUTs) and a 5 pin DIN plug (which I assume is used to daisy-chain machines or used to plug in a transport type remote.

If anyone has any experience with these preamps (or you own one and can tell me where the power wires lead to, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd rather ask instead of poking around and fry these.

Thanks for any help!
