Well, thus far, my favourite use has been on overheads; you can squish 'em pretty hard without strange things happening to the sound. I did try it across the master buss just for the heck of it and found it didn't suit at all for the mostly-acoustic stuff I deal with, though I've heard that some people use it for this. Maybe I should try recording some techno-ambient banjo loops...

I still have three of them. I like them on drums, vocals and acoustic guitar.
Same place I like the 1176. I let them hiss and don't even worry about it. The analog switch on the waves compressor plugs hiss like a bitch too.
It would be fun to see a hi-fi microlimiter mod someday.

probably not hard to do, they have straight foraward, non surface mounted parts. (predates surface mount by a decade at least). heck I'm gonna pull mine out of the rack and look.

man, my micro limiter started making all kinds of buzzing noise a few months back. Totally unusable now. Anyone offer any ideas about what it might be? kinda sounds like a power issue, but who knows.

You will be pleasantly surprised by the Wedge reverb.

The "Gotham Studio" program is my go-to reverb program.... you may want to EQ the return channels by trimming the low freq a bit.

yeah man, the Wedge gets used OFTEN here. every mix "often" pretty much. My other outboard effects are spx90, rev7, effectron, lxp-1, Vortex and a handful of stomp boxes.. They all do just fine in various positions and chains. The wedge was the best $35 spent though.

Got my 3-year-old nephew to keep asking where "warm ponger" is over and over the other day... "WHERE IS WARM PONGUR?"" best assistant ever.

I want a Wedge pretty badly but I just got a spring reverb and I have a midi verb II, plus verbs ITB, so if I can't get a good sounding reverb out of those options then there is something worng with me.

nice to see another Wedge getting put to use here in Nova Scotia... i LOVE mine and use it pretty much all the time...

Im also a fan of the Nano Compresser..totally flavorless but it pretty much lives strapped across my synth bus sidechained to the kick.

if my power supply hadn't bit the dust my Nano Verb would probably also find some use too.

i need to get one of those microlimiters though... lately ive been crushing my drum busses thru one of my Purple Actions in my lunchbox, i cant pull my other Action off the kick channel (sounds too good) so i could use a stereo "crusher"
