Look at the fucking finish options. They are hideous. It is a cool idea, but I feel new age music and middle eastern styles will eat this up the most.
With a price tage of 6500 no fucking thank you. I will stay with my ebow and simple effects with the sweet spot on my amp.
It is a cool breakthrough none the less.

Stand in front of my amps
It will sound like sand paper on teeth

Wasnt there a gibson bass... the "RD artist" or something, that had moog electronics in it???
edit: yes there was... http://www.gibsonbass.com/RDartist.php

Any takers?
I'll stick with my modified Fernandez Dragonfly with the sustaner system. It doesn't do the mute thing, but my hands cover that feat. Combined with the Axon AX101, it does an amazing amount of things, like Hammond patches that hold chords forever, eliminating the deadly midi note off problems. The octave and 5th harmonic modes do all the feedback tricks on the guitar, all 6 strings are effected. The biggest problems are live, it works so well I never get any love for a synth patch, the keyboard guy gets all the applause for the parts I play! Running a Mini Moog solo patch into the Tube amps allows for a very thick doubling of the guitar sound. I paid $490 for that guitar, $650 for the Axon.

I'm with Lou, except I ain't got that bread. I'm going to pray for a cheap knock-off or a budget model in the next five years or so. I thought the E-H Hog was the coolest thing I'd seen in guitar technology in years, and this blows it away.
It IS a souped-up Fernandes Sustainer, but it's WAY souped-up and taken to a whole new level. First they put the sustain circuit and the pickup together, so you can still have two pickups, and second they came up with the genius manouver of making a setting for killing the sustain with the same electronics. I think that's amazing.
Edit: I like the honey color all right. Natural figured walnut would be ideal, and for $6500 you'd think they could give you some better looks options.

One of my best friends is the product manager on this thing. I don't actually know too much about it yet, but I remember him telling me that with a rocker pedal you can dynamically shift between the PICKUPS in real time while you're playing. Now THAT'S cool! But I agree, these are not the most attractive things...
