Tectum - acoustic control panels

Anyone ever use this stuff? It looks like the ceiling from an old Howard Johnson's.

Tectum is okay, but it's expensive for what it is. Unless you're building a Howard Johnson's. :)

I've specified this stuff or something very much like it for theaters, big churches, that sort of thing. Mostly commercial application.

I have it on the walls in my studio. Works okay. You get used to the shredded-wheat look after awhile.

I got some free from a friend and put it up around the drums.

It worked very well for absorbing high freq and reflections. But didnt do much in the way of the low end as far as I can tell.

Got rid of it, and insalled 703 and 705 panels which I think tightened the bass more and looks better.

I agree that it does not do much for the low end. For that I added RealTraps, which helped tremendously. But I kept the Tectum up. The overall result is pretty good.
