Microphone Suggestion for a three year old.
Microphone Suggestion for a three year old.
I have a friend who has a three yr old son who loves singing and talking with a microphone. So I bought a cheap Orange 15R amp. (the one with reverb) so he can have some fun and I can play guitar occasionally when I visit. So I donated an old AKG C1000 but found that the output was too weak to get a good signal into the amp. So any ideas on a hot microphone that I can plug right into an amp with?
thanks,
thanks,

My neice and nephew use these to connect to their karaoke rig:

I tried that and it still was barely audible with the amp dimed. I was hoping someone could make a quick suggestion - and for some reason I cannot make myself give a 3 yr old a working SM57, even though its much more robust build etc. I need every 57 I can get my hands on. Even if the parents bought one I would probably end up stealing it from them. ( I already have a nice Lego collection going)mikeyc wrote: You may want to try a new battery too.

"like stealing microphones from a baby"
I was thinking about a Lexicon PCM 91 and Eventide Orville would be fun to play around with too. Then I realized the Orange 15R had no effects loop so I may upgrade that to a Samson era- Matchless DC-30. You know I may spend more time baby sitting than I realized....trodden wrote:u47, about chest high, with some light compression should do the trick.
Dude, I'll send you a 58 and a Samson S11 (58 clone) if you want to send me the C1000. One for you, one for the kid.asmara wrote:I tried that and it still was barely audible with the amp dimed. Otherwise, yeah-- a trip to Radio Shack or Target or Wal-Mart should yield you a cheap Hi-z mic.

we use a really old radioshack mic for our microkorg's vocoder, too. the lack of high end response is actually a really big plus.nate wrote:I'll second the radio shack suggestion. I got an optimus mic there with a 1/4" connection already attached for $15. I gave it to my brother and he uses it with the vocoder on his microkorg.
