Oilio Greaszie Hands Burst my bubble.
Does anyone have any recommendations about keeping bass or guitar strings clean. Pyramid flat wounds on my hofner & bullets on my tele.
My current skill of profession requires the grease monkey in me.
I heard somewhere? Boiling strings at low temps is effective. Any thoughts anybody, besides a nail brush n Gojo?
I prefer bright to be broken though, in the same token. Little bit of this n that.
Ramble on...

Did you know that water boils at the same exact temperature every time? The only thing that changes the boiling point is altitude... i.e. atmospheric pressure, and only by a few degrees. So when I saw your post I had to comment, because it made me laugh a lot.
Oh, as far as keeping strings clean, try two things:
1. WASH YOUR FILTHY HANDS BEFORE PLAYING. This cannot be over said, over emphasized, etc... enough.
2. Use a string cleaner, found at your local music store. There are about 4 or 5 good brands. Any one of them will do it's job.
Cheers
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Dude I am nobody. Do not believe I could be happier without that.
I think its pretty shitty when total strangers call people out and make them feel inferior.
However, I am here to be called and to call people out. Respectively.
Trust me, I need the mentor(s). I feel guilty for wasting peoples precious, oh so precious time. But then again, I never asked anyone to say anything, that is your decision. Anything goes. You can feel worse, but you cant feel when you've lost everything. But hey got new shit too...old shit wasnt that good anyway.
People in Austin can really blow my broken dick blues.

the whole point of a Dutch uncle isn't to make you feel bad, it's giving you straight talk instead of blowing smoke up your stove pipe.ZacharieDaquiriDoc wrote:some wanker on a message board wrote:think of us as your Dutch uncles (and aunts).

Not to divert from the topic at hand BUT.
My guitar luthier recommend spraying WD-40 on a cloth and wiping the strings down. and ya know what
IT WORKS LIKE A FRIGGIN CHARM!
So now i keep a little cloth and small bottle of WD-40 in my guitar case.
