Remote rig Micpre

Post by mixedupsteve » Fri Jul 11, 2008 6:37 am

I've got around $1,500 and I want to do an upgrade to my remote rig.
I want a pre that will be flexible and have the ability to add some "balls" to a channel and still be able to do "nice" if asked . It seems to fit the bill.
My other option is to get a lunchbox and start out with a few pres one of which must have the "balls" quality.
Comments would be appreciated.

Also, do the Seventh circle pres fit in a 500 series lunchbox??

Thanks
Steve

On the cheap, using an RNP with either a RNC (for nice transparent compression/limiting) or a RNLA (for thick) works pretty well. I got both flavors on my remote rig, racked in FunkLogic racks.

Speaking of which, they're working on their 8 unit / 5 space rack frame (kinda looks like a pseudo API rack): http://funklogic.com/vrtsystem.htm

Sytek? With the BB's it can do "balls" if you want to call it that...

And no, the Seventh Circle stuff does not fit in a 500 series rack.

I like to add balls in post production.
But for clean and nice, you might want to find a used True Precision 8.
