Monster pwn'd: Finally they lose a lawsuit!

Post by ;ivlunsdystf » Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:11 am

In the mpls star tribune yesterday I saw that "monster deer block", a salt lick product, was recently targeted by monster cable (if you still don't know about the evil monster cable legal stuff, go read their wikipedia entry)

The defense filed a dismissal motion on grounds that nobody is going to mistake a salt lick for an overpriced cable. The monster attorneys withdrew from the challenge.

I hope this can serve as a helpful precedent in other bullshit suits now.

Unbelievable. I wonder how many mom-and-pop stores Monster has threatened so far.

Frivolous lawsuits make up something like 2% of the GDP.

There are 7 levels to a trademark, some companies try to control all of them. Nice local story though in Minnapolis, if it were Arizona, I can't imagine they'd be talking about a Deer product!

*rolls up sleeves, puts on visor, opens half door, hangs open for business sign, of the Redundancy Department Department*

I used to carry Monster here in the store. Got rid of it all and now have Mogami.

Everybody is loosey goosey! It's summer! Even the Monster Cable lawyers are loosey goosey! Almost like they're just going through the motions (no pun intended)
