Behringer Eurorack UB1202FX Probs

Post by Shaku » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:01 pm

Yes I know i have heard many problems with Behringers,
I am just beginning recording
and i just needed something basic to record my drums as my guitarist is in St. Louis.
Right now, i have it connected using a 3.5 jack from the main output.
I am using reaper.
I am also using a SM57 mic.
Right now, no matter how i adjust the EQ or the FX knob
I sound like a serial killer/kidnapper with a voice distorter.
If you dont know what i mean by the description, its a very low voice basically
It sounds nothing like me.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks ahead of time! :D

Also quick note
There is also a very long pause,
sometimes up to 2 seconds after saying something,
I hear it through the speakers or the internal output of my mac.

Sounds like a cable ground issue with nothing having to do with the Behringer.

Behringer make GREAT equipment. Typically reliable.

What is your soundcard in this set-up? Describe the cabling you have running from mic to mixer from console output to soundcard input.

What output on the mixer are you using? Just making sure you're not plugging the speaker output into your soundcard!
