Fulltone Tube Tape Echo...

Post by Recycled_Brains » Wed Aug 20, 2008 11:24 am

Holy fucking shit are they awesome!

They had a used one at the local GC and a friend of mine picked it up. Used it in the studio on Saturday... jesus, I have to get one.

It adds so much vibe and character to anything you use it on. What a great piece. Seriously took an already rad guitar part and turned it into some next-level shit.

Anyone else use one on a regular basis? I'd love to hear some tricks you've learned as well as what you're using it on.

I felt the same way when I got my 1st space echo.
I like to use that on vocals as a quick pre delay into a spring reverb..((mojo))

Not to be a downer - in fact - prove me wrong! - but I bought one used for $800, but sold it after a while. It's tons of fun, but I started thinking how i couldn't remember the last time I've heard a prominent echo on a record. Or live for that matter.
I sold mine for exactly what I paid for it. The only time that's happened!

It's time to welcome the echo back into your life dude.

I love mine to death. It does some really unexpected stuff to a mix. If it only had line level XLRs...

the benefit of the TTE is that it is built well

I loved my space echo until the motor went out. How do you find a new motor? I don't think it's going to be easy...

All of Fulltone's stuff is killer. I have their GT-500, the OCD pedal and their Tremelo pedal...built like tanks, sound amazing.

I don't think organic-sounding delay ever goes out of style. Even mixed subtly, it adds a lot of life to digital tracks. Plus, a tape echo set with no feedback is so useful as a quicky way to print a track to tape and back, get that rounded-off and slightly saturated tone.

I'm a nut for delays though, bias admitted.

I love my Space Echo, I can only imagine one of these would be even sweeter.
