thanks. it took a TON of 703 to tame the reverb down and get the low end under control. i'm still sorting it out a bit, but yeah it sounds pretty nice in there, mastering clients have been happy...haven't had to do too many revisions at all...except for Mr Picky Chris Garges. :D

It is indeed a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56. I just completed my first project tracking with it and I was pretty happy with the result. The mic preamps (even aside from the Liquid Pres) and converters sounded much better than the Akai DPS 24 mkII I used to record with. I want to get the Focusrite Octopre though, or something similar, to expand the number of inputs I have for live tracking a full band.

Thanks man. Good to know. I need to get something like this, but I had heard that they were unreliable, and you're confirming that. Too bad, cause the price is good.
