chameleon 7720 stereo bus compressor

Post by grockvt » Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:08 am

Anyone have data points on this unit?

Also, a new chameleon unit called the 7708 (optical tube) compressor is coming out in November...

Now that I am going OTB (16>2 folcrom), I have a patch bay and can patch in some units here and there. All I have for available for outboard is one RNC and it is unbalanced in and out. I also can patch in a UA 2-610 for colorizing a vox, keys or guitar bus...

I guess I am wondering what stereo or dual mono compressor I could get for about $600-$700.

I had a 7720 here for 60 days for a review. It's fast aggressive and quite cool. I'm writing a review for studioauditions.com that you can watch for.

i borrowed one from a friend and have only used it on one mix. that being said, i found it a little more transparent than the SSL 384; not quite as gritty.
