I've had pretty good luck with Seagate's higher end drives. Make sure you get something that's at least 7200RPM, if not 10000 RPM.

I stuck an additional SATA internal drive in my G5 when I got it (about 4 years ago) - will check the manufacturer later, but I've had no trouble with it, and use it as my main audio drive ...

I've got a Cheetah that works well, I had a Barracuda that completely fried. I also have several Western Digitals that have had no issues.

For the money these days, they perform about the same and at a 'disposable' price point.

I second the WD's. I've also had good luck with Maxtor's.

drew - you mean the shadowed figure in the graphic on my home page? That's from one of my comic book projects, one of my other hobbies (yes, I am a geek...). This particular one is from the issue I'm currently working on. I do all the art and writing, it's a lot of fun.

Not to derail the thread, but here's a link to the first "issue" in PDF if you want to check it out. I'll have a proper gallery up in the next few weeks as I re-do my site. Enjoy!
