Are parts compatible between Otari 5050 BII and MKIII - 1/4" 2-track?

Actually, are parts interchangeable between BII, BIII and MKIII 1/4" 2 track recorders?

I did, but I don't know enough about the technological side of the machines to answer your question with any confidence... I just pushed the buttons and played...

You could call Otari in LA and ask. I'm not sure how much of a U.S. office they have these days, 'cause that web page seems different than before, but it's worth a shot.

They may also have parts for sale . . .

I'm glad I found this before the auction on a 5050 II-F ended, apparently it's mono full track:
