The Jesus Lizard "Goat" Mic setup on Sims' Blog

Post by touched1 » Sat Dec 20, 2008 12:59 pm

Former the Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid/Rapeman bassist (and Teledubgnosis collaborator) David Wm. Sims has carved out a space for himself on the web:

http://davidwmsims.wordpress.com/

It's mostly an outlet for his writing and current event commentary, but he's started posting artifacts from his musical past. Most recently he posted a scan of the hand written input list for the "Goat" recording session.

Many of us hold this record up as the "gold standard" for recordings from that period. So it's kind of a kick to see the inner workings like this. The channel list will probably have few surprises to the veterans here. Just thought the tape op crowd might appreciate this.

Wow, I thought you were kidding about the reunion, I can't wait.
It may be a garage, but it doesn't sound like one.

REUNION!!! that makes my day.. got to see 'em a few times in the mid 90's and to this day it's one of the only shows that I've been to that I actually thought the band was DANGEROUS.

Goat rules so hard. I love the first track on that album. It sounds really great sonically as well.

I am psyched about the vinyl re-releases.

Great record. Got to see them 13 times.
