Any Broken D12 Microphones?

Post by akg414 » Wed Dec 31, 2008 7:42 am

Wondering if anyone had a broken AKG D12 lying around and wanted to sell it for parts. I need the part where the mic connects to the stand. The female threads on the mount are cross-threaded.

Lots of cheap mic stands come with a threaded "cap" that screws onto the existing threads - not a Euro adapter, just a 5/8" to 5/8" thing. I've epoxied these into stripped mics/clips a few times. Beats paying for a new 421 clip.

Not sure if you can get them individually, though.

You might want to check with Richard Land at Land Audio in Nashville to see if he can turn a D12 into a D12E, so that you'll have a normal XLR connector on the bottom that will fit into an AKG mic clip.

You got a website for this guy? I "googled" and can't seem to find anything?
