Stillwell plugs=the hotness

Post by sad iron » Thu Jan 15, 2009 8:13 pm

Can I say (thanks to ipressrecord) that these Stillwell plugs have me feeling like a 19-year-old coed with a brand new wardrobe of PINK-emblazoned hot pants. I just want to wear them everywhere, no matter the weather (-15 in Iowa today. Car wouldn't start when I had to go teach).

Seriously, go check the out: http://www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=28

I plan on paying for them when I get out from under my recent hard drive investments. They're cheap and great, TMHE.

Rocket, 1973, Event Horizon, Vibe, and Major Tom are the ones that have recently saved my bacon on a remix thing. I downloaded more but haven't had the chance to put them through the paces.

You really must try Transient Monster. I think its their best and most must have.

Only two knobs. Super simple to use, lets you immediately dial out teh suck increase the goodness coefficient.

Especially good on drums.

These plug-ins changed Digital Performer for me. I feel like I have real EQs and compressors now. Glad that they are working for everyone!

As a fellow Iowan, I too could definitely use a pair of hotpants. My control room is warm though, and I could use some non-waves plug ins...Keep warm, Jason!

Yeah, did I see a -15 F reading from Iowa on Wednesday? Makes our 8 F feel tropical.

Anyway, another +1 for the Stillwell plugins. Major Tom is the bass compressor I've always wanted - just a couple of db's of compression sounds perfect.

Truly awesome sounding plugins. First time I've thought of a plug in as "musical".

Thanks for reminding me, I gotta pay for the Rocket! I think it's gotten me one step closer to saying goodbye to the beloved Blockfish.

I gave them a quick try and I like Rocket and Trans Monster the best.
Rocket w auto gain on is really nice.
TMonster made a lousy sounding piano track sound much better and kills on a drum buss. I'll keep them for sure. (and pay for them)

I?m pretty new to recording and all but even I could hear that the Transient Monster really do wonders on a drum bus.

"a single sample at 44.1kHz has a span of 22.6 microseconds. The Rocket?s attack time can be below this level, for absolute certainty that even the very first sample understands that you are its master."

Downloading right now. Thanks for the heads up, they look awesome
