Graphic EQ - plugin...?

Post by boriscrispin » Tue Jan 20, 2009 1:19 am

Hi guys,

I'm looking for advice on any currently available (to OSX-Tiger, logic-pro) Graphic EQ plug-ins, I fancy the simplicity of a Graphic Eq, but cannot seem to find any readily available.

I've seen the WAVES API 560, which looks lovely, but can't you seem to buy it on it's own. I also have no iLOK or whatever they are....

Any alternatives? I'm not looking to pay through the teeth (funny that) but I'd like something with a decent musical sound.......ideas?

hey thanks for the tip off, though I was hoping for the classic lots of dials graphic eq as opposed to the parametric or whatever it is. I just find I understand and enjoy the 'vibe' of the graphic over making twiddly shapes and peaks. I'm not saying they're bad at all etc.

p.s I love scott walker massively

any graphic EQ's floating about?

Kjaerhus has a graphic in their classic series. it's pretty decent, and free.

Did you check out URS Plug ins. They have a few graphics.

Do a search on KVRaudio. I know there are some there, I downloaded one or two then got rid of them because they weren't doing anything for me that the Logic Channel EQ wasn't doing.

And if you're looking for plugs generally, There's a sticky right at the top of this forum.

Looks like Voxengo's got a mac version of Overtone EQ. I haven't used it, but it's free.

The apple audio units bundled with MacOS feature a graphic EQ that's not bad at all.
I find adherence to fantasy troubling and unreasonable.

and the winner is.... jeddypoo.

I always overlook the simple Apple Audio Units, and yet whenever I use them I'm perfectly happy.
