CD-R markers

Post by purple pie pete » Sun Feb 01, 2009 6:43 pm

Staedtler CD-R Pens are awesome. I bought a 4 pack a couple years ago, and I am just starting to wear down the last one. Hard to find, though.

I had some Sharpie marked discs from about 9 years ago fail on me.

I got one of these for Christmas. I am looking forward to using it once my power is back on at my house.... :x

Hey, I just got a bunch of Sony DVDs at the Costco and was pleased to see that they now come with a rather tough paper-like coating on the top. This seems quite abrasion resistant compared to the standard old optical discs, and it looks like you could mark them with any old non-indelible felt tip pen or what have you.

Who knows how well they'll hold up over 10 years. Only one way to find out, of course.

Those might be the printable discs, the ones that work in inkjet printers. I would think that you could write on those with just about anything.

I use RefD's avatar to mark on my CD-Rs. Do you all suppose there's any risk involved there?

I used to only use invisible ink, until I lost the pen.
Now i just use an invisible pen.
