I think what he was referring to was the varying periods of different frequencies, which means that any given point, your two mics might be in phase at one frequency, but not the other. You can't get all the frequencies in perfect phase... it's physically impossible, especially when sounds start reflecting and room modes start building up, but you can pick the spot that has the most appealing cancellations and boosts.CompEq wrote:Tony,Different frequencies travel at different speeds.
Nope, nope, nope, no they don't. The speed of sound can be altered by temperature and medium, but it is not frequency dependent.
A 20 Hz wave travels at the same speed as a 20 kHz wave if they are at the same temperature and both travelling through (for example) air.
