Nope. I did "steal" Alex's bass rig concept though. Ashly BP41 -> Hafler -> 15" Thiele cab and a 12". (Alex used a 2x12 openback for the top). Pretty good sound for not a lot of dough.

Guy's name was Nick B. I wouldn't say he was bragging. He lived downstairs from me at the time and I'd go down there and listen to records with him and we'd talk music and gear. He turned me on to Iggy, Fishbone and the Chili's, etc. He was, however, a little retentive about his gear. Custom made guitar and all that.

Almost forgot: Please steal my drum tracks. and more.

No-Fi: I'm going to try and contact Trevor one last time to ask permission to post it on Soundcloud. If I don't hear back I'll post it there.

Hey thanks for the concern guys.

I kind of took a short hiatus - my dad died a couple years ago and that really put a damper on the music side of my life

But things are getting back to where they were and I hope to be more active in the future.

Got to say one thing tho - when I was in the deepest of depressions - TapeOp arriving every month was like a bright ray of sunshine that helped steady me until things got better.

Trevor,

Thank you again for that original upload. It stays on my desktop and I use it on a fairly regular basis to check drivers, etc. when setting up a PA. Always puts everyone in a good mood, probably because it isn't Steely Dan or hair metal - the two options chosen by 90% of live sound dudes.

Ya man thanks for the re up, loving these selections and the sound is nice!

Dubbing is a must.

As far as DJ gear goes I gotta recommend the Peavey Kosmos sub-synth as well. It's my secret weapon, especially if you want some monster bass, I'm addicted to it, running everything I listen to through it now.

Oops...it didn't email me that there was thread activity for some reason.

Glad the sets got re-upped, and I like the second set too. Sounds like red_2 ends on the dub version of the first song in red_1a. I also love the cover of "I'll Be There."

The second mix sounds more "wet". Is that an analog delay on the send, or maybe a tape slapback? Also was red_2 recorded in the studio while red_1a was recorded live off the desk?

So, I'm missing something obviously, but where are the sets posted? I'd like to hear them...
