The best part of it is, it's also a recording interface when you need it, ie: travel, etc.
I've done some great bass and acoustic guitar recordings while in Paris, going through the H4 directly into Ableton Live, all in 24bit/44.1. Sounded incredible.
It only does 16 bit / 44.1 or 48 when used as an interface (checked the manual online here
http://www.samsontech.com/products/rela ... manual.pdf).
Although it's not that much more difficult to record in 2 track mode and move the files by taking the H4's SD card out, and plugging into a reader on the PC.
I use mine with the Gorillapod which will either make a small tripod shape, or clamp onto almost anything using sort of a robo-Gumby approach.

I have an H2. It's terrific for what it is. Great things about it:
- It sounds great, good enough for pro work.
- It has four mics, so you can get both a stereo pair of what it's aimed at + a stereo pair pointing away at the room.
- If you switch it to Mp3 mode (instead of wav), you get literally DAYS worth of recording time (with a big enough card, which are pretty cheap these days). And the MP3 mode sounds pretty impressive too.
Also, something most people don't know, is that the H2 can be hooked up to a PC via USB cable and operates as a dual stereo sound card (with low latency ASIO drivers)! It's full duplex too, so you can use it to playback VST instruments while simultaneously recording yourself. Fun stuff.
It is a little on the fragile side. There's a silicon gel cover that's about $15. I'd say it's mandatory. Once you have that, you don't have to worry about dropping it.

Thanx, y'all!
I'll be buying something this weekend ...
BitchBuy has the H2 in stock, but I may run by BanjoMart and SamArse, first ...
