Elastic audio question

Post by btswire » Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:40 pm

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to have a region continuously speed up over a period of time (ramping) using elastic audio in Pro Tools. Any suggestions? Thanks.

off the top of my head, you could draw a tempo line that ramped up over the course of the selection, then quantize the elastic audio anchor points to that tempo map.

Thanks. Each individual elastic audio anchor point has to be added manually, correct?

Not necessarily, as the elastic audio engine will analyze your audio and place "pins" at all the transient points, but you'll probably get the best results by putting anchor points at bar lines and dragging them around manually.

Good luck! Let us know how it works out.

With pitch (varispeed) or not?
You could just insert tempo markers with whatever resolution you need... (i.e 87, then 90, then 93, then 96) or more like 89,90,91,92,93 on every beat, and then quantize whatever the audio is.
I have done that with varying degrees of success, from awesome to totally sucky.
