backwards reverb examples

Post by soundhack » Tue Mar 03, 2009 8:40 pm

what songs can i use as examples of backwards reverb? i can think of "no one receiving" by brian eno, "what do i get" by the buzzcocks and maybe the guitar solo in "svefn g englar" by sigur ros

any other examples? esp. more recent ones?

recent ones?

no idea.

old ones would include the cymbals in parts of "One Of These Days I'm Going To Cut You Into Little Pieces" by Pink Floyd from the album Meddle and the vocals in the "hyperspace" section of "Natural Science" by Rush from the album Permanent Waves.

Is there some of that in "Day in the Life"? Or is that just all an orchestra shredding?

there's backwards reverb on the snare drum in Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time."

I'm using a shitload of backwards reverb in a horror film I'm mixing, but that won't help you.

yep good call. nice effect on that song.

Another good one is Unwound's "One Lick Legs" off of Leaves Turn Inside You....i love that album.

one of my favorite uses of backwards reverb is on the Tones on Tail song "Twist" It's really subtle and it works great. They used alot of backwards reverb on guitars too.

I think there's some on the vocals for Mutilated Lips. By Ween.
