Looking for Tube Tester in Phoenix area

Post by lifeintime » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:57 am

Just picked all this stuff at auction for $15.00. I put in the minimum bid of $5.00 and won all three. I'm feeling really lucky at this point.

First box looks all used.
Second box looks all new.
Third box was advertised as "Navy Tubes" and I am really interested in it.

Antique Tube Supply used to have a tester in their lobby that was free to use. Last time I drove over there - about 100 mile R/T - they wanted $2 per tube and THEY would test. I left.

I would certainly work a deal with anyone who has a functional tube-tester.

I'd call Field Services. They are on 24th st and Thomas and really nice guys. They fix all sorts of old tube amps and electronics, so I'd imagine they have the gear....not sure if they charge.

There's also a new vintage stereo store on 7th st and Indian School called Audio Video Choices. Really cool store...super friendly....again not sure about equipment and what not.

Also in south Tempe called Antique Electronics. I bought some tubes for my '73 Princeton Reverb and they tested my old tubes for free. Not sure if they'd do it for free for that quanity of tubes though. Might be the Antique Tube Supply you were talking about.

hope that helps...good luck.
