One of the wires on my 1960s MD421 have gotten twisted up and broke and I can't seem to take it apart for fear that I'll do more damage than good. The wires are very short and the broken wire has retreated into the main body of the mic.
Has anyone here taken one apart and can you give me any advice? I see that there's a screw under the ID plate but that didn't seem to do much. It's so old that I plan on replacing all of the wires while it's apart.
Thanks to anyone that can help!

Remove screw under plate. Draw out bass filter barrel from body gently.
Un-do screw inside body deep inside the recess wgere the filter barrel was. Remove grill.

Much appreciated. I'm going to try tackling it this weekend.
